To enroll as a student at CVARP, you'll need:
Students attend FREE OF CHARGE.
BOOKS
Books are FREE to students, courtesy of funding from the Arizona Department of Education Adult Education Services.
COMPUTERS
Computer use is FREE to students, courtesy of hardware provided by the Arizona Supreme Court, Administrative Offices of the Courts, Project LEARN and CVARP donors.
For every hour of instruction, students may have one hour of free internet use, subject to our Internet Use Policy and computer availability.
Students may print up to 10 pages free per scheduled study day.
SCHEDULES
Students set their own schedules within the days and times our Centers are open. Special tutoring days and hours are available by appointment.
Students make a commitment to attend a minimum of 60 hours of orientation, testing, and instruction between July 1 and June 30.
Regular attendance is important. Call if you can't come at your scheduled day or time.
HOMEWORK
Some homework may be assigned in addition to the 6 hours per week of attendance at one of our LEARN Centers.
VISITORS
Parents and family members are encouraged to visit the Centers to discuss student progress.
Please do not bring pets, except service dogs or other service animals required to assist disabled persons.
Please do not bring children under age 16 to the Center. We will be happy to assist you with finding local childcare.
SMOKING
No smoking is allowed inside the Centers; students over age 18 may smoke in designated areas outside or in their vehicles.
CLOTHING
We ask that students dress appropriately: no suggestive clothing, no short-shorts (knee-length shorts are acceptable); cover any tattoos or body art that might offend or upset other students.
CONDUCT
During orientation, students read and sign our "Student Conduct Policy." Repeat violations of this policy may result in dismissal. We require that all students refrain from carrying weapons of any kind, swearing or other inappropriate language, evangelizing, inappropriate touching, and violence in any form while in our Centers. Students are required to show respect toward one another and toward our staff. CVARP is a drug-free workplace. Anyone suspected of taking non-prescription drugs while attending our Centers will be sent for drug testing at their own expense; those testing positive for illegal drug use are subject to dismissal.
FOOD
Students may bring food and drink to the centers but may not eat or drink while seated at the computers.
FUN
We want our students to enjoy their time at our Centers. Smiles and appropriate laughter are encouraged.
